Your character Moth is by far the cutest little dude I've ever laid eyes on, and has inspired me to make a tiny mothly character of my own (which I hope is okay with you!) Do you plan on uploading more art of him in the future?
I might do more with him!
His design is a pretty standard Flannel Moth so I didn’t alter that much aside from making him walk around and flop everywhere, haha.
Please feel free to make all the squishy little moths you desire - I in no way have a monopoly on adorable insectoids!
“From what I can tell it’s even LESS known than ACTA. I haven’t even been able to find any YouTube videos on it.
Here are two lovely quotes I think you will find interesting:
“A leaked version of the February 2011 draft U.S. TPP Intellectual Property Rights Chapter indicates that U.S. negotiators are pushing for the adoption of copyright measures far more restrictive than currently required by international treaties, including the controversial Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.”
“The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is pursuing a TPP agreement that will require signatory counties to adopt heightened copyright protection that advances the agenda of the U.S. entertainment and pharmaceutical industries, but omits the flexibilities and exceptions that protect Internet users and technology innovators.”
Yep, more restrictive than ACTA.
Countries will be forced to rewrite their copyright laws and adopt this agreement’s (beyond sucky) laws.
I don’t really know much about this myself, but here are a few points summarized from the article: -Temporary reproductions of copyrighted works without permission will count as infringement. (So I’m guessing you can’t put your music on an external drive if you’re getting a new computer?) -Countries can’t import legitimate goods without copyright owner approval. (So basically Japan could say that USA is no longer allowed to import anime.) -Extend the Life+70 years copyright in individual work, and the 95 years after publication/120 years for corporation stuff. -Ban circumvention of digital locks. (DMCA is a whole host of issues in and of itself.) -“Adopt criminal sanctions for copyright infringement that is done without a commercial motivation.” (Pretty self-explanatory there.) -“Adopt the U.S. DMCA Internet Intermediaries copyright safe harbor regime in its entirety. This would require Chile to rewrite its forward-looking 2010 copyright law that currently provides for a judicial notice and takedown regime, which provides greater protection to Internet users’ expression and privacy than the DMCA’s copyright safe harbor regime.” (Couldn’t have said it better myself.)” - WindieDragon
Mother of fucking god, I am seriously getting tired of the fucking US continuously fucking trying to fuck shit up by making so much fucking shit and caring so fucking much about fucking copyright and fucking intellectual fucking properly fucking problems when there are so many other fucking much more fucking important fucking problems that have to be fucking taken fucking care of. Fuck.
I don’t fucking care if this will fucking fill my fucking fuck quota of the fucking month, holy fucking shit balls on a dick.
I don’t fucking even fucking FUCK.
Just spread this shit. Just fucking do it.
What the fucking fuck, can’t they fucking give the internet a fucking break?!
Do you mind if other people work off of your idea of insectoid trolls as long as they try to do it a bit differently? I'm only asking beforehand because some people get angry when they find things they know were based off of their ideas but they were never asked.
I’ve got absolutely zero problems with people drawing them like that.
It’s just a fanart concept! And it’s pretty neat people are interested enough to want to draw them that way too! So have fun!
I know you mean well (I guess?) but please stop asking about “will [insert character here] be drawn in this new “gross-troll” style?”
Just because I haven’t drawn them yet does not mean they won’t exist. It’s been like two days. The sketches take an hour or two. There are way more important things I need to focus on, so I’ll just be using these as warmups.
I will get around to them eventually, in between things I should ACTUALLY be working on that aren’t fanart. I don’t have the time to crank out endless sketches of slobbery trolls, unfortunately (how I wish I did). It might take a while, but please be patient.
Kanaya: Be a troll. Be tall and spindly with clawed fingers and hoofed feet. Be an anomaly. Live in a world where your curved spine and hunched shoulders set you apart from the masses. Be yellow-eyed, as if with sickness. Be blighted with a tongue that drips down further than your chin, and be forced to try pinning your floppy ears back each and every day. Be grotesque.
I love the Karkat/Terezi ship, especially <3-wise, and seeing your new drawing of them reminded me of the old Karkat/Terezi stuff you had. What turned you to the, haha, Scourge Sisters side of the Force?
I’m still fond of Karkat/Terezi! :> I just don’t draw them as much anymore, haha. There are a toooon of things I am perfectly alright with ship-wise that I unfortunately never really get around to drawing, mostly because I am pretty okay with /most/ ships with a few exceptions.
Personally I’m such a huge fan of Scourge Sisters because there’s so much awful, twisty history to work with between them. Each of them is really sort of broken in the feelings in regards to her sister and oh my god if I keep going this is easily just going to turn into a pages-long wall of FEELINGS about FICTIONAL ALIEN GIRLS.
I’m sure by now you must know something about this, since protests are everywhere, including on google and wikipedia. If not, feel free to read up.
Since it’s all pervasive at this point, I won’t say much. Do some research, if you don’t like it, speak out. The bottom line is the bill would allow sites to be blacked out to US citizens if claims of infringement are made against that site, or even against some of its difficult to police users, like on tumblr or reddit. This would likely mean instant censorship of massive parts of the internet for US users. Kind of like throwing tons of innocent people in prison just to be sure a few criminals wind up in there too.
If you’re like me, you probably get kind of ticked when these ridiculous ancient men in congress, who have no clue at all how the internet works, get together and decide how the internet should be for everybody. So feel free to let them know.
I’m blacking out all pages on the site, except those posted today and yesterday, for 24 hours. I’m only leaving the recent ones up to provide context for the little blackout gag.
I can tell you that it’s an experiment in seeing how miserable we can make Vriska’s life.
But seriously (not that I wasn’t being serious with that first part), BSGStuck will be pretty damn extensive. More so than anything I’ve ever written before, because all of the main sixteen characters have important roles, their own storylines and a clusterfuck of relationships that will hopefully intertwine neatly. While some characters are vaguely filling pre-existing roles, it’s only based loosely on the actual characters in BSG — it should be accessible to people who aren’t familiar with Battlestar Galactica. I have no idea when we’re going to start posting yet, because I’d like to have a decent amount under my belt, but it’s coming along quickly, and shouldn’t be too far off!
And it goes without saying, but it isn’t going to be a happy story.
Thanks for your interest! c:
As a note this is one of those things that will totally just end up existing when it’s ready to.
We are nothing if not determined to provide you with a quality AU experience — wow damn it that sounds hilarious even when I am trying to type it seriously — so producing things quickly is, needless to say, less of a concern than doing them well.
Anyhoo! - Will be tagging any related things with #bsgstuck for those who are interested.
